Where can I get a LighterMate?

What is LighterMate?
LighterMate is The World’s First Magnetic Lighter.  It is a refillable, electronic ignition lighter that uses magnetic innovation to make it easier to keep track of than other commonly misplaced lighters.
 

How do I refill my LighterMate?  
Use premium grade butane to refill your LighterMate.  You can get a can of butane at your local convenience store, or find one of our retail locations that offer FREE MATE REFILLS.  Follow the instructions found here to ensure proper refilling and increased product life.  

How do you adjust the flame?
Increase or decrease the size of the flame by rotating the round flame adjuster on the bottom of your LighterMate as shown here.

My LighterMate stopped working.  What do I do?  
First, check our troubleshooting page to help you diagnose the problem and fix it.  LighterMates (especially the early editions) have their own personalities and often require special attention.  If you ever have any issues and want to speak directly to a person, contact us and we’ll take care of you.  

I saw my friend stick a pack of cigarettes to his refrigerator.  How did he do that?
LighterMate sticks directly to a pack of cigarettes using our patent pending Pack Plate.  Because your LighterMate is magnetic, you can then stick both your pack and your lighter to your fridge, outside railing, or pretty much wherever you think is the most convenient.  

What happens if I lose the key chain?  Can I buy a new one?
It seems to me that you have two options.  1. You can find your keychain. 2. You can buy a new one, which we would be happy to sell you along with other awesome accessories.
 

If there’s an electro magnetic pulse, will I explode?  
No.

Does it erase credit cards?
LighterMate does not erase most credit cards.  It does, however, have the potential to erase hotel room cards or other magnetic strips with temporary information.  

Will my LighterMate erase my USB?
No.  Contrary to popular belief, USB flash drives use solid state memory, which is not affected by magnetism. On the other hand, if you light your USB on fire, it will probably not work anymore.  

Do all LighterMates work together with the same pin?   Can I interchange them?
Absolutely.  The Mate Mechanism works around one universal docking system.

Why is the button so hard to press?
The button is intentionally stiff in order to adhere to Child Resistance Safety Testing.  We’ve gone through all the required safety tests including international ASTM certifications and US CPSC required child testing.  

When I place my order, how long will it be before I receive my lighter?
In most cases, we ship the same day you place your order.  If it has been more than two weeks since you ordered and you still have not received your product, please contact us here and we will take care of you.  

Do you ship internationally?
At the moment, we ship to the continental US.  If you are interested in receiving product elsewhere, please contact us directly and we will make special arrangements.  If you are interested in wholesale orders, please contact us here.

What happens if my order doesn’t arrive?
In most cases, we ship the same day you place your order. If it has been more than two weeks since you ordered and you still have not received your product, please contact us here and we will take care of you.

How is it magnetic?
There are two magnets located inside each LighterMate.  The one on the bottom is where you will find the Mate Mechanism.  The magnet on the top is used simply to help stabilize the lighter when it is stuck to the Mate Plate.  

Will it stick to my refrigerator?  
Yes.

If I am orienteering and smoking, will I get lost?  
Yes, but it is probably not the result of your LighterMate.

What if my LighterMate sucks?
If your LighterMate sucks, we’ll fix it or replace it.  For free.  Find out more information here.  

How many colors do you have?
There are more than 200 possible color combinations at the moment, but this number is continually growing.  

Will it make me more attractive to the opposite sex?  
Yes.  After all, it is called Mate.  

Is LighterMate made from 100% recycled materials?
One of LighterMate’s main goals is to be as environmentally responsible as possible.  We make conscious decisions about all the materials we use and try to make as little of an impact as possible.  That being said, no, LighterMate is not made from 100% recycled materials.  Our gas tank, for example, is made from a high grade POM material in order to ensure a better quality lighter.  We try and reduce packaging as much as possible and encourage retailers to reuse displays by purchasing our refill packs instead of replacing entire displays. As we grow, we will continue to focus on making environmentally responsible decisions and work towards becoming a Cradle-to-Cradle certified company.  

I heard that LighterMate is, like, totally awesome.  Is that true?
